Here we look at some Interesting Facts. We Look At Near-Death Experiences. And What did Enoch, Josephus and Jesus say in Luke 16.19 about life after death?

This is a subject I have been fascinated with and have studied for many years.

Throughout the generations there has been 1000'S of remarkable stories that also confirm with the stories told by Enoch Josephus and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME and the story of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus told by Jesus himself in Luke 16.19.

Who Was Enoch?

Enoch was a prophet of God and a preacher of righteousness and the seventh down from Adam. The famous Noah with his ark was Enoch's great grand son.

Who Was Josephus

Flavius Josephus was a Jewish historian, born in Jerusalem in the year AD 37, and died around AD 101. He came from five generations of distinguished priests and his mother claimed descent from the Maccabeans. He was well educated and mixed with all the notable thinkers of his day, thereby honing his natural gifts of memory and good judgement. He acquainted himself with the leading Jewish politico-religious party of the time, consisting chiefly of Pharisees and Sadducees, and was to later record the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. His writings gave important insights into first century Judaism, and were eventually translated by William Whiston. He wrote books called Antiquities of the Jews, and I found many of his verses lent weight to my own views, some of which I offer here:

In this video above HADES is portrayed here by Luke as an unbearably hot place set in a ‘great chasm’. The rich man looks up to see Abraham, and Lazarus and Abraham look down onto him.

Some people who believe that Heaven and Hades are non-physical entities, detached from our mortal world, have likened this story to a parable. The implication being that Jesus is describing what Hades might feel like rather than an accurate representation of an actual place. Hades or Sheol we understand is a place for departed souls rather than a place of burial for if this was not the case dialogue between Abraham and Lazarus could not have happened.

But this story is quite different from other parables told by Jesus, not least because here he uses real people. In this story we find reference made to Abraham, Moses, The Prophets, The Rich Man, His Father and his five brothers.

Annas the High priest, the ruling power behind the Sadducees responsible later for the arrest, trial and crucifixion of Jesus. Annas is the father of 5 sons who met Jesus face to face and wanted Jesus dead, he had power and authority through his position. He and his gang denied the resurrection of the body in Mat 22:23, Luke 20:27, Acts 4:1-2, 23:8. and believed that a persons soul dies with his body.

Could this be the same five brother in laws the rich man was trying to reach? It is certainly a coincidence.

In fact, we see in the gospel of Mark how the Sadducees challenged Jesus’ doctrine in the resurrection and life after death. Jesus puts them straight
and makes it very clear to them saying that our souls do not die by saying:
“and as for the dead being raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the story about the bush, how God said to him ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is God, not of the dead, but of the living; you are quite wrong.” said Jesus. Mark 12:26.

We then see that Jesus raises the same Lazarus from Hades in John 11 and wonderfully proves them wrong in proving the soul does not die.

The Bible and Near-Death Experiences.

I mention this story told by Jesus himself in this article because it tells a story of the afterlife that we have a soul that departs from our bodies and lives on after death. Agreeing with the remarkable stories told by so many NDE patients.

These experiences of NDEs have been reported by just as many children as adults and stories of them go back as far as Paul who wrote half of the New Testament.

NDEs were widely reported even before they became known to a mass audience through Raymond Moody,s 1975 book Life after Life.

NDEs are now so popular and common that the philosophers, priests, psychologists and cultists are now all concerned and now realise when the heart stops and the brain is dead we are still alive and conscious. And with the high tech hospitals more people who would normally die are brought back to life with the biggest shock ever the electric shock.

Around 15 % of cardiac-arrest victims are revived with many story's from being in HELL fire burning in pain'


to many feeling better then ever, incredibly well bathed in a bright light, a feeling of great joy and happiness. Some who have met relatives there children, and, even Jesus there to welcome them in.

What could be better? It's all like a wonderful dream. Is it a dream you may ask? They then realise it Is not a dream as they feel their souls being sucked back into their cold bodies with great disappointment, and what is very interesting here, is nearly all who experience a NDE are transformed into a new person, they become more compassionate, loving, caring and many quite religious, they then realise there is more to life and a reason for life.

Pam Reynolds states in her interview with the BBC that death, annihilation is a big lie.
She must know about the truth of life after death more then most people. WHY? Because Pam was clinically dead for over 1 hour


The atheist doctor who has just resuscitated the patient after telling their story becomes more alarmed and shaken than the patient themselves.

I read in one article that, the doctors who believed that YOUR SOUL JUST DIED are now having to say NO IT DIDN'T.

Many Doctors nurses and surgeons are continuously reminded that they could be wrong about life after death.
That there could be a God and this God is trying to reach them. Well let me tell you there really is a God
a heaven and a hell just as Enoch, Josephus and Jesus stated.

Yes they warned us that we have a soul that lives on either in heaven or in Hades which people understand as HELL.
If you believe that the crazy theory that teaches NDEs are just hallucinations caused by starvation of oxygen to the brain cells then you may need more oxygen yourself which may help you to understand your thinking is wrong. Here's why.

Doctors completely puzzled
How is it that doctors are now completely puzzled after hearing their patient tell them that as soon as their heart stops and the patient hears their doctor say they have flat lined, meaning the patient is clinically dead yet the dead patient tells them that they were watching the whole thing from the ceiling after floating out of there body.

How is it doctors have been told by the patient precisely what tools were used on them which have never been seen before by the patient.

How is it doctors and nurses have been told about the precise conversation made by the doctors and nurses in the theatre by the patient who heard the whole conversation when they were clinically dead.

How is it that blind people who have experienced a NDE who have never had sight before yet tell the doctor precisely what the operating tools looked like and even described what the nurses and the doctors looked like incredibly precisely and accurately when the blind NDE patient was completely blind and has been all of there life.

How is it a patient who had a NDE called Maria told the doctors and nurses that she floated out of her body and hovered around the hospital and saw a tennis shoe on a window ledge that had never been seen and could not be seen elsewhere.

And just recently a new story that blew a hole in the hallucinations theory which became famous because of Pam Reynolds an American singer who watched the surgeons remove her skull with great detail and then moving in to a bright glowing realm. The doctors literally killed her by draining all her blood from her body to be able to remove an aneurysm from her brain. After being clinically dead for 1 hour and then pumping her blood back into her body to bring her back to life. Pam told the surgeons about the surgical tools used on her and words spoken in the theatre about her to be remarkably accurate. The surgeons were left scratching their heads.

Pam Reynolds Lowery from Atlanta, Georgia was an American singer-songwriter. In 1991, at the age of 35, she had a near-death experience (NDE) during a brain operation. Her NDE is one of the most notable and best documented in NDE research.

During "standstill" operation, Pam's brain was found "dead" by all three clinical tests - her electroencephalogram was silent, her brain-stem response was absent, and no blood flowed through her brain which left her clinically dead. Interestingly, while in this state, she encountered the "deepest" NDE of all.

She made several observations about the procedure which later were confirmed by medical personnel as surprisingly accurate.

This famous near-death experience is considered by many to be proof of the reality of the survival of consciousness after death, and of a life after death.

Her out-of-body recollection is "the single best instance we now have in the literature on near-death experiences to confound the sceptics," according to Kenneth Ring, professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Connecticut and a chronicler of these episodes.

Pam Reynolds became a born again Christian.

In fact there are 1000's of reports of vivid common and life transforming NDE's with survivors from many countries all over the planet.

The evidence of us human beings being immortal having a soul/sprit which departs from the body after death is proving to be clear cut and rock solid.

In fact Dr Sam Parnia of Southampton university is designated to finding one thousand five hundred survivors of cardiac arrest who were clinically announced dead to tell their story's . If NDEs are hallucinations then why is Dr Parnia using a technique called hidden target, in certain hospitals? He is placing pictures on high shelf's which are invisible both to patients and staff. They are placed in a position where only a floating soul Departing from a body moving towards the ceiling could see them.

However although Dr Sam Parnia is unlocking the truth regarding the positive results and finding of NDEs

No Matter What Evidence We Have

For many I am very sad to say it doesn't matter what evidence they or any one provides there will always be sceptics and scoffers. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 2 Peter 3:3 kjv.

I have many friends and even my own mother and father in law are not in any way interested in things that may prove there is life after death. Which means they will not know the truth until they die. And then it will be to late.

Unless they are as fortunate as the patients of NDE's

We even have certain Christians now teaching on Christian TV that NDEs are nothing but crazy dreams , well I believe they are terribly wrong and Christians should no better for Paul who wrote Half of the New Testament had a near death experience which I will return to shortly.

All I ask is that you don’t wait too long to begin that dialogue. By the sounds of it, not everyone is as fortunate as the patients of NDE's

Fortunately for us the Bible also suggest something else. That it is never too late to seek out God, to hear his words and repent for our sins. Where your soul ultimately ends up is still entirely up to you:

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”- John 3:16

NDE's :
As I stated above. half of the New Testament was written by Paul he was a member of the Jewish Sanhedrin, when he persecuted and arranged the stoning of Christians. After an encounter with Jesus Christ he became a follower of Jesus, and one of the most famous teachers in the New Testament.
Paul was stoned to death and had an experience of Heaven, all recorded in the Bible, before being raised back to life.

Paul visited Heaven.

Many Bible scholars also believe that Paul visited Heaven after his stoning. This is described in 2 Corinthians 12:1- 4: "Let me tell about the visions I've had, and revelations from the Lord. Fourteen years ago I was taken up to Heaven for a visit. Don't ask me whether my body was there or just my spirit, for I don't know; only God can answer that. But anyway, there I was in Paradise, and heard things so astounding that they are beyond a man's power to describe or put in words (and anyway I am not allowed to tell them to others.

Are Near Death Experiences In The Bible?

Dr Richard Kent believes that the Bible clearly teaches about Near Death Experiences, and After Death Experiences, commonly called Resurrections. We believe that Paul clearly had a Near Death Experience, visited Heaven, and recorded his experience in the Bible.

Simon's Conclusion

So what have we learnt from this story. Let's have a look.

• The prophet of God-Enoch believed and taught that we are immortal having a soul/spirit which departs from the body after death.


• Flavius Josephus the great Jewish historian, believed and taught that on death our souls departed from our bodies and go to Hades/Hell or paradise/heaven.


• The apostle Simon Peter a servant of Jesus also believed and taught we are immortal having a soul/spirit which departs from the body after death.
  Here's why
  The book of 2 Peter 2:9 states- 1 (KJK) and to reserve the unjust. 2 (NASV) and to keep the unrighteous. How can you keep or reserve something if there is no soul that lives on to reserve or keep for the day of judgment?


• Jesus himself also told us of a story of the afterlife in the rich man and the beggar Lazarus that we have a soul that departs from our bodies and lives on after death.


• And as we have read above. We also have 1000's of remarkable stories of NDE's that also confirm with the stories told by Enoch, Josephus and The apostle Simon Peter and the story of the rich man and the beggar Lazarus told by Jesus himself in Luke 16.19.


• All the people above have the same story.
  All the people above say the same thing
  All the people above confirm with one another. Remarkably. Accurately and Precisely.

This one verse makes it absolutely clear and simple Just as I believe Jesus would want it to be and to understand.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28

In fact there are so many statements from Jesus regarding life after death
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not a God of dead men, but of living.' Matthew 22:32 (Y.L.T)

Barnes' Notes on the Bible
Here below we see St Paul, plainly that the apostle gives no intimation of an intermediate state between being at home in the body and being present with the Lord. There is not the slightest intimation here that the soul sleeps, or rather, that there is no soul.

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 2 Corinthians 5:6 - 10

People's New Testament

5:6 Therefore we are always confident. Because of what is stated in 2 Co 5:5.

Knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. Paul knew, when danger threatened, that to be at home in the body was to be absent from the Lord's presence, and that if he was slain and thus left the body, he would go at once to the presence of the Lord.

I'm not convinced that all testimonies of people who thought or believed or say they have experienced a NDE are genuine. Although most seem sincere.

However I do believe there are many remarkable genuine cases and that the Lord God has given many people a vision of heaven and others of hell so that they might repent and turn to Him and be saved.

The Lord God is Love For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16) Which is why he is warning us because he desires not one person to perish but all be saved. (1 Tim. 2:4 to 7). (The Message)4-7 He wants not only us but everyone saved, you know, everyone to get to know the truth we've learned: that there's one God and only one, and one Priest-Mediator between God and us—Jesus, who offered himself in exchange for everyone held captive by sin, to set them all free. Eventually the news is going to get out. This and this only has been my appointed work: getting this news to those who have never heard of God, and explaining how it works by simple faith and plain truth.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. A Personal Story Regarding My Mother. Please may I also share with you this story of my mother who died at 52 years old of Leukaemia. My mum had been ill with leukaemia for several years and at this point was in hospital. It was a few days before my mum passed away and she was very poorly, she was high on morphine and her eyes were closed most of the time and she could only just about understand our conversations. Knowing my mum was in her last few days or hours and me being a believer I had to do all I could to save her soul. I asked my mum if she would mind if I got a vicar to come and pray with her as I was so desperate for her to be Photo of my mother Julie and my youngest sister Teresa. saved. I knew mum believed in God but I believe she never knew Jesus as she had a troubled life. Her parents were Muslims and she had not been taught the the difference between all religions she just always believed that there was a God and that was enough. I don't even know if any one had ever told her about Jesus, so I knew I had to, this would be my only chance to show her what I believed was the truth, and to repent and believe on her death bed. I was so overjoyed mum said yes so I left and returned a little while later with the first vicar I came across after nearly knocking his door down in panic as I knew time was very short. The vicar asked mum if she would like him to pray for her and mum said yes. So the vicar asked her to follow the sinners prayer and then they did holy communion and as mum was drinking the wine the vicar said do not worry about drinking it all and my mum said no I want to drink it all I am feeling better. It was like she just received a new burst of energy, me and my two sisters were so shocked. I believe the Holy Spirit came in to mum at that moment, of course that's what I hoped for anyway . Two days later mum sadly died in hospital with her family around her. Several years had passed since mum died and my sister Jenny called me up and in the conversation she told me she had an amazing and very very clear dream. She said the dream was about my mum.Well to be honest I thought it was of no real importance. But as I tell you about the dream you will understand how wrong I was. Photo of me at my mothers grave. But first let me tell you a bit about Jenny , she was not a Christian at this point and knew nothing regarding the Bible or near death experiences this is what makes it so amazing as she could have never of known anything she told me. In her dream mum came to her , she says mum was glowing as bright as the sun, she was radiating this amazing love , amazing peace. She spoke to Jenny and told her she was so happy there and did not know now why she was so upset about dying as it was so beautiful there. She said to Jenny that they are showing her around up there and to tell Simon all about it. Jenny said mum had a bunch of flowers in her hands and they seemed as if they were alive, and mum was glowing with this amazing happiness. Now what amazes me is how did Jenny know what the many people who said they experience a NDE was the same experience told by 1000's of remarkable stories all over the world? The Hidden Treasure and the Pearl of Great Price
Matthew 13:44-46
44 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, 46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it.



You see Jesus made it clear in this parable. Those who put their trust in him will receive a treasure beyond compare and this is why the many NDE patients are transformed into a new person.

They have been given a taste of Heaven and some HELL. Literally. The Bible states OUR MINDS CANNOT COMPREHEND HOW WONDERFUL IT WILL BE FOR THOSE WHO TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST.

Many believers may say that my sister's dream is not biblical or possible. That's not what the Bible states
“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
Acts 2:17.

What did Jesus say?

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

Many years later I crawled out of bed one morning and always being brain dead first thing I was amazed with these words that popped in to my head saying, YOUR MUM IS IN HEAVEN. The words were so clear I was surprised.
