On 21 October 2002, a press conference co-hosted by the Discovery Channel and the Biblical Archaeology Society, anticipating a report in the Society's Biblical Archaeology Review (November 2002), presented a small chalk ossuary that bore an inscription יעקוב בר יוסף אחוי ד ישוע (Yaakov bar Yoseph Achui de Yeshua) "James son of Joseph, Brother of Jesus".
