Sounds of Hell By Matthew Tulloch and Simon Brown.
Please note this article has been revised on 8th August 2012 many verses have been changed to the Codex Sinaiticus. As it is my belief that the word HELL is the lake of fire and not HADES.
The Kola Well
Friends, the story I have to tell is long, and at first it will seem deeply troubling. I urge you to keep reading, for though these events caused me great personal conflict, the message I have to deliver is one of hope and redemption. As in the case of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, remember that it is always darkest before the dawn.
In 1984 a group of geologists set out to the deserted, frozen far north of the then Soviet Union, a place known as the Kola Peninsula, on a troubling mission - to drill an experimental well as far as they possibly could into the Earth’s center. As the well sunk increasingly deeper the team began to see, as recorded in the journal Scientific American, bizarre rock formations and inexplicable patterns of gas and water travel. Temperatures rose to hundreds of degrees celsius and the work became almost impossible.
When the depth of the well reached around 9 miles, the geologists hit an unusual pocket of air and decided to lower some heat-resistant sensory equipment, including a microphone down into the gaping darkness to see what was there. This is reputed to be a recording of what they heard.
You can hear what appear to be the tormented cries of suffering people, assumed by believers to be tortured souls locked away behind the gates of Hades.
Evidence has now surfaced to prove this recording to be a fake remix of a horror film. However I am not totally convinced.
Lazarus and the Rich Man
Whether or not you believe this recording to be the actual sound of HADES, it poses some crucially important questions about Hell itself, its purpose and location. We think of Hell as being ‘down’ or ‘below the earth’ and of it being a fiery hot place where souls go to suffer. We believe this simply because so many references to it and various different sources in the Bible point to this truth. For example, the story of Lazarus and the rich man:
19 But there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, feasting splendidly every day.
20 And a certain poor man named Lazarus had been laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 and desiring to be fed with that which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 But it came to pass that the poor man died and was carried by angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
23 And in hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said: Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and Lazarus likewise evil things; but now here he is comforted and thou art tormented.
26 And in all these regions between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that they that would pass hence to you cannot, neither can they pass thence to us.
27 And he said: I pray thee then, father, that thou wouldst send him to my father’s house;
28 for I have five brothers: that he may earnestly testify to them, lest they themselves also come to this place of torment.
29 But Abraham said to him: They have Moses and the prophets: let them hear them.
30 And he said: No, father Abraham; but if one from the dead should go to them, they will repent.
31 But he said to him: If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one should rise from the dead.
HADES is portrayed here by Luke as an unbearably hot place set in a ‘great chasm’. The rich man looks up to see Abraham and Lazarus, and they look down onto him.
Some people who believe that Heaven and Hades are non-physical entities, detached from our mortal world, have likened this story to a parable. The implication being that Jesus is describing what HADES might feel like, rather than an accurate representation of an actual place. But this story is quite different from other parables told by Jesus, not least because here he uses real persons Abraham and Lazarus, rather than a descriptive title, such as the good samaritan. In fact this is the only such story told by Jesus that is not referred to as a parable in the Bible itself.
Lazarus of course is also the name of the man whom Jesus raises from the dead in the Gospel of John. Scholars do not typically conclude these two men to be one and the same, but I believe that this may very well be the case, and furthermore that this connection is deliberate and important. Various historical sources indicate that the resurrected Lazarus, brother of Mary Magdelene, traveled across Europe to France and then England following the resurrection of Jesus. Roman-style artwork in several French locations portray Lazarus the beggar becoming Lazarus the apostle.
In the story above, Jesus described how the rich man begs Abraham to send Lazarus to his family, to tell them the truth of Heaven and HADES. Does it not seem possible, even likely that Jesus would grant the rich man’s wish and return Lazarus to the living in order to do just that?
Regardless of whether this is the case, Lazarus has also lent his name to a phenomenon which is central to determining the truth about the existence of HADES (and therefore by definition Heaven also), and to which we will return shortly.
Eternal fire under darkness
Luke is not the only Biblical text to make reference to Hell as an actual physical place. Matthew recounts Jesus’ words implying quite clearly that HADES and HELL is a real place at the centre of the Earth:
"For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly: so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."
1 Peter 3:19 (NKJV) by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison,
This confirms with Ephesians 4:9 NKJV Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
Josephus's and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME W.F.E. states
Hades is a place in the world not regularly finished; a subterraneous region, wherein the light of this world does not shine; Hades, is a place of perpetual darkness which is a region allotted as a place of custody for souls,
This confirms with
Psalm 88:6 (New King James Version) You have laid me in the lowest pit, In darkness, in the depths.
And this from the Enoch fragments, the words of the prophet Enoch dating back to before the days of Christ and unearthed in Qumran in 1947. The book of Enoch is apocalyptic and terrifying, this being one of its more restrained passages:
And you, dead sinners, when you die they will say about you: "Blessed are the sinners, they saw during their lifetime the full extent of all their days. Woe to you, ye sinners, when ye have died, If ye die in the wealth of your sins, And those who are like you say regarding you: "Blessed are the sinners: they have seen all their days and died honorably, and judgment did not happen during their lifetime."
“And now they have died in prosperity and wealth, And have not seen tribulation or murder in their life; And they have died in honour, And judgement has not been executed on them during their life."
You yourselves know that they will drag down your souls to Hades, and they will remain there in great anguish. Know ye, that their souls will be made to descend into Sheol and they shall be wretched in their great tribulation.
And in darkness, ensnared and aflame; and your souls will enter the great judgment for all generations forever.
Woe unto you, for you are unable to rejoice. And into darkness and chains and a burning flame where there is grievous judgment shall your spirits enter; And the great judgment shall be for all the generations of the world. Woe to you, for ye shall have no peace.
Most believers say the book of Enoch is not a true book and that the Jude passage 1:14-15 is NOT REFERRING TO the book of Enoch. However Jude refers to something which is recorded WORD FOR WORD in the Book of Enoch 1:9. and was in wide circulation 2000 years ago, and Jude evidently considered it "canonical enough" to quote authoritatively. Jude 1:14-15 NIV
Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”
All believers believe the dead sea scrolls are genuine as we know they are. Yet the Enoch fragments, with the words of the prophet Enoch dating back to before the days of Christ where unearthed in the same place at Qumran in 1947. Yet most believers say they are a fake or a forgery. Below are just some of many facts.
Here are some articles from Daniel L. Berry. "The Reluctant Messenger" and regarding THE BOOK OF ENOCH. Ferrell's Travel Blog.
Enoch was a preacher of righteousness Before the Torah, and the old testament was the book of Enoch. The book of Enoch is quoted in the bible and was considered scripture in ancient civilization. This book adds credibility to the bible especially the book of Genesis. The book of Enoch expands into what really happened during those days before the flood. As told in 2 Peter 2: 4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;
This same description is in the book of ENOCH
This book also explains the source of demons & fallen angels.
In addition, the book also sheds light into the so called evolution of man. To read this book is to believe that there's really a God and that the bible tells us the truth about this God.
This book was not added in the bible because it disagrees with the bible but because it agrees with it, therefore powerful people in charge has suppressed it. It is believed that the book of Enoch was preserved by Noah his great Grand son during the deluge. The Jude passage also sheds some light on amount of knowledge the men of his day had of future prophetic events. A reference to the Second Coming of Christ at the end of the Tribulation. The only way HE would have known was if God had told him. It appears he knew a lot about the coming Messiah.
Enoch is considered as Scripture in the Epistle of Barnabas (16:4) and by many of the early Church Fathers as Athenagoras, Clement of Alexandria, Irenaeus and Tertullian who wrote c. 200 that the Book of Enoch had been rejected by the Jews because it contained prophecies pertaining to Christ. The book of Enoch was written in the 2nd century B.C., and was popular for about 500 years, with both Jews and early Christians. It is one of 15 works of the Jewish apocrypha, and the Jews rejected the book of Enoch when they made a canon of their own scriptures late in the second century A.D. During the first three hundred years of Christianity, early church leaders made reference to it. The early second century "Epistle of Barnabus" makes much use of the Book of Enoch. Second and Third Century leaders, including Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origin and Clement of Alexandria all reference it. Tertullian (160-230 A.D.) even called the Book of Enoch "Holy Scripture". The Ethiopic Church even added the Book of Enoch to its official canon. It was widely known and read the first three centuries after Christ. This and many other books became discredited after the Council of Laodicea. And being under ban of the authorities, afterwards it gradually passed out of circulation.
Many of the early church fathers also supported the Enochian writings.
Both Old and New Testaments portray this same fiery image of HADES being somewhere below us. The Old Testament sometimes speaks of ‘Sheol’, which is a Hebrew word, and the New Testament of ‘Hades’, which is a Greek one. Both words verifiably refer to the same fiery place below the earth.
A eternal place with flames underdarkness, the vision of HADES recorded by so many different writers before, during and after the time of Christ. So why should we believe that the fiery HADES spoken of so often in the Bible and in other writings is actually a real physical place rather than some metaphorical punishment?
Geology and the Earth’s Core
Science can tell us little about the Earth’s core, partly because the Earth is so big that drilling deep down into it is physically impossible, and partly because the temperatures in the Earth’s core are estimated to be in the region of thousands of degrees, much hotter than any living thing or indeed man-made object could endure. Hotter, in fact, than even the surface of the Sun. We do know however that there is a layer of molten lava flowing around the Earth’s core just as spoken of in the Bible, and though it was for a time believed that the core itself was solid, seismologists have discovered that there must be unusual structures and variations of density in the Earth’s core because seismic waves pass through the Earth at varying speeds. In fact this observation is described as ‘very puzzling’ by scientists, who cannot explain the phenomenon.
So we know for sure that it is incredibly hot, that it contains unexplained structures and molten lava, and that the Earth’s core is around 70% of the size of the moon. What’s so extraordinary about that? Well I’ll tell you.
At the time when the Bible was written, some 2000 years ago, people knew none of this.
There was no way to drill down into the earth, no way to show scientifically the presence of molten lava, or anything at all to suggest that the center of the Earth was even hot. Anything, that is, except the word of God.
I cannot believe that it is coincidence, or lucky guesswork by the authors of the Bible and other stories of HADES and Hell that led them to describe Hades and Hell in such terms - being deep under the earth and fiery hot, with lakes of lava - when we now know that this is exactly how the center of the Earth actually is. Exactly.
And if we then accept this troubling premise that HADES and Hell is a real place at the center of the Earth where souls are sent to suffer, if the Biblical accounts of HADES and Hell are indeed true, what else can we learn of it?
A Hebrew - English Bible According to the Masoretic Text and the JPS 1917 Edition
Deuteronomy Chapter 32
22 For a fire is kindled in My nostril, and burneth unto the depths of the nether-world, and devoureth the earth with her produce, and setteth ablaze the foundations of the mountains.
Deuteronomy 32:22 (English Standard Version)
22 For(A) a fire is kindled by my anger, and it burns to(B) the depths of Sheol, devours the earth and its increase, and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains. New International Reader's Version (NIRV)
22 My anger has started a fire. It burns down to the kingdom of the dead. It will eat up the earth and its crops. It will set the base of the mountains on fire.
The fiery seas of Lava that I believe to be Hell are deep under the Earth, but we can see them for ourselves. This passage from Deuteronomy suggests that God’s angers is what causes Hell to burn so hot, and even to rise up and touch the edges of the living Earth. We may presume then that the eruption of molten lava from volcanoes may be a sign of God’s anger overflowing and threatening the living with his wrath. Indeed, some residents of Iceland, which has a higher concentration of active volcanoes than any other country, speak of hearing the wailing voices of the damned for miles around during the fiercest eruptions.
A reminder perhaps of his awesome power and of what may happen to us if we refuse to hear him when he speaks to us.
The Lazarus Phenomenon
I mentioned earlier the importance of Lazarus (or depending on what you believe, the two Lazaruses). The first story (Lazarus and the rich man) establishes HADES as a physical location somewhere deep below us, and the second (the resurrection or Lazarus) reinforces the idea that the soul is an independent entity that can be separated from the body and, in exceptional circumstances, returned to it.
Of course, we have no way of verifying these events ourselves. Lazarus has been dead for close to two thousand years now, which would make interviewing him somewhat difficult. However, there are people alive today who have experienced what is now known as the ‘Lazarus Phenomenon’.
Ian McCormack was stung by five lethal jellyfish while diving off the coast of Mauritius. Shortly after arriving at hospital he was pronounced dead. Fifteen minutes later, which may as well have been hours from a medical point of view, Ian opened his eyes and gave the doctors and nurses the fright of their lives.
Ian, then an atheist, recalls turning to prayer in his desperation during the ambulance trip. He remembers passing out and then regaining consciousness outside of his body in a dark, evil place where voices taunted him and told him that he was in HADES. He claims that he was led out of that place by a bright light and taken to Heaven, where God told him that his desperate, last-ditch prayers had saved him from remaining in HADES, before returning Ian to his body.
This is where the story gets particularly relevant from our point of view. Having been given a second chance, Ian proceeded to read the Bible from cover to cover, and claims that the descriptions of Heaven and HADES therein are exactly as he experienced them during the fifteen minutes that he was clinically dead. During the fifteen minutes that his soul was separated from his body.
This is first-hand, albeit anecdotal evidence that the descriptions of Heaven and HADES from the pages of the Bible are literal and true.
Ian McCormack isn’t the only person alive today to have experienced the Lazarus Phenomenon. Hundreds more people around the world have recounted similar near-death experiences, of leaving their bodies and visiting Heaven and HADES before being returned to life minutes or even hours after doctors had pronounced them dead. Their accounts share many similar or even identical features, and some of the most remarkable can be found at Free Christian Teaching the website of retired medical doctor turned Christian minister Dr. Richard Kent.
The Soul, and the Second Death
The Bible makes it clear that body and soul are separate, and that while the body dies and returns to the earth, the soul will live on and either return to be with Jesus Christ, or be cast down into Hades. To be clear, the soul as described in many, many Biblical passages is not a symbolic or metaphorical idea, but a tangible entity just as our own bodies and every other aspect of our physical surroundings:
“The groans of the dying rise from the city, and the souls of the wounded cry out for help. But God charges no one with wrongdoing.”
“But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig's blood, and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations”
“This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'”
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
“For you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
“For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.”
“When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.”
“I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
It is possible that the presence of these souls in the physical location of Hades, in the center of the Earth, would account for the inexplicable variations in energy that scientists find when they attempt to measure seismic waves passing through the Earth’s core.
The life of every person belongs to me. Fathers and their children belong to me. The person who sins will die. Ezekiel 18:4

“This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” - Matthew 13;50
"But cowards who turn away from me, and unbelievers, and the corrupt, and murderers, and the immoral, and those who practice witchcraft, and idol worshipers, and all liars - their doom is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death" - Revelations 21
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." - Matthew 7:13
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death." - Revelation 2:11
"Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death." - Revelation 20:14

2 Thessalonians 1:9 (King James Version) "Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;"
Malachi 4:1 "For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch."
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Matthew 10:28 "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."
Barnes' Notes on the Bible Them which kill the body - That is, people, who have no power to injure the soul, the immortal part. The body is a small matter in comparison with the soul. Temporal death is a slight thing compared with eternal death. He directs them, therefore, not to be alarmed at the prospect of temporal death, but to fear God, who can destroy both soul and body forever. This passage proves that the bodies of the wicked will be raised up to be punished forever.
Young's Literal Translation 'And be not afraid of those killing the body, and are not able to kill the soul, but fear rather Him who is able both soul and body to destroy in gehenna.
EXCEPT .If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand. Revelation 14 (King James Version)
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Fortunately for us the Bible also suggest something else. That it is never too late to seek out God, to hear his words and repent for our sins. Where your soul ultimately ends up is still entirely up to you:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” - John 3:16
"If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins.” - Matthew 6:14-15
"The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him." Daniel 9:9
"The Lord is for me, I will not fear"
Friends, I have written this because when I heard the sounds of Hell for the first time, Although the sounds of Hell has been proved to be fake it has reminded me of what 2 Peter 2 states which confirms with the SAME story's told in THE ENOCH FRAGMENTS AND JOSEPHUS Discourse to the Greeks concerning Hades and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME. Who states clearly as the same story told by Jesus in Luke 16.19 is the same story told by Enoch. Where the SOULS OF THE UNSAVED dead awaited Judgement Day. The unrighteous are detained, kept or reserved. As kept in a spiritual prison.
I had many sleepless nights as I struggled with my own faith, my understanding of God, and what it means to be faced with the reality of the long suffering in the darkness of HADES. The spiritual prison.
Then I will bring you down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of long ago. I will make you dwell in the earth below, as in ancient ruins, with those who go down to the pit, and you will not return or take your place in the land of the living. Ezekiel 26:20
If Hell is real, then Heaven also must be real. It must be. Therefore any evidence that suggests or reinforces the existence of HADES and Hell as an actual physical entity located within the depths of the Earth also by definition reinforces the existence of a Heaven. Which leads directly to...
So long as we strive to live good lives and accept and follow Jesus Christ as our Saviour, we need not fear the flames, as it says in Corinthians:
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new." - Corinthians 5:17
And in the words of Jesus himself:
“I am the resurrection and the life... whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” - John 11:25-26
Whether you believe the sounds of hell to be authentic or just a hoax, whether you believe those who have experienced the Lazarus phenomenon to be truthful, or false, or deluded, whether you believe that the relatively recent scientific discovery of the Earth’s molten hot core to be proof or mere coincidence, remember this: God is always listening, and he will be there for you when you choose to speak to him.
All I ask is that you don’t wait too long to begin that dialogue. By the sounds of it, not everyone is as fortunate as Ian McCormack.

THE SO CALLED ''MISSING LINKS'' TO EVOLUTION THAT FOOLED THE DUMB SCIENTIST
IF THE BIBLE IS TRUE, THEN WE CAN SEE THE EVIDENCE. IF THE BIBLE IS NOT TRUE, THAN WE WILL NOT FIND ANY EVIDENCE TO PROVE IT. MOST PEOPLE KNOW EVIDENCE PROVES THINGS TO BE TRUE. HAVE WE SEEN ANY EVIDENCE. THAT PROVES THE BIBLE? YES WE CAN STILL SEE 1000'S OF YEARS LATER THE STAGGERING EVIDENCE TO PROVE EVERY STORY OF THE BIBLE. The many bible discoveries and information on this web site proves the Holy Bible to be forensically accurate and perfectly reliable in every possible way and in every detail truthful concerning the most important events in human history. The whole purpose of this website is to help bring people to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Some need evidence, others do not. I hope that the evidence shown on this site helps you make a decision for the Lord. When we “believe” that Jesus Christ truly died on the cross for our sins and if we believe that Jesus rose from the dead, and follow Him by taking up our cross, you shall be saved. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Some need physical proof... well here it is. Some simply believe. The Bible says, “Blessed are those who have not seen, yet hath believed.” Whether you believe what I’ve shared in this website or not, and you have not yet received this free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord, now is the day. Let today be the day of your salvation! If you are looking for the evidence of the bible, God or Jesus, here it is. It is time to turn away from our sins, believe and receive salvation, and follow Jesus. Amen.

Truth springs from the earth, And righteousness looks down from heaven. Psalm 85:11 Barnes' Notes on the Bible:
Truth shall spring out of the earth - As plants do - for this is the meaning of the word. The blessings of truth and righteousness would be like the grass, the shrubs, the flowers, which spring up from the ground - and like the, rain and the sunbeams which come from heaven. Truth would spring up everywhere, and abound in all lands, as plants, and shrubs, and grass spring up all over the earth.
